New on Fanzine: More self-expression, more sharing
Sometimes, you have to pop out and show people.
On Fanzine, we now have more ways to express yourself and your love of creators. We’ve been working hard on this one! We shared it on r/InternetIsBeautiful which has 17M members, and it became the popular post this weekend. Which is nice.
First of all, fanzines look like this now:
You can now annotate each creator in your fanzine. We hope you’ll express the why of what makes a creator so great. We have hashtags and you can add your Insta handle to your fanzine, so people can see who you are. Credit where curatorial credit is due. We think this feels more like you’re making a little scrapbook of your taste.
You can also share any fanzine to any platform.
Simply grab the link and share it with friends privately via iMessage, Whatsapp, Discord or publicly on any of the Evil Social Networks. Even better, sharing works on mobile! (Though, of course, nothing else does.)
Make yours and share with a friend. Take someone else’s and share with everyone. For example, here’s one that I made.
I’m lucky to be part of a community called VERCI based in the fringes of SoHo and these are some of the cool people around me making new things — pop rap, book clubs, art with code. Clicking above now goes straight to my fanzine. Maybe take a look and give one of them a follow on whichever platform they’re on.
As a reminder: Fanzine is a labor of love by myself and Pierce that is a more authentic way to discover creators — via recommendations from people like you, with no AI or algorithms. No app. No log-ins. Desktop-first for now.
We’re working on adding more things that we hope you’ll find delightful. And we just added a sh-itload of new creators to discover and share. If you like what we’re doing…
